MSC Cruises has now confirmed that MSC Euribia left Dubai, passed safely through the Strait of Hormuz, and is on her way back to Northern Europe. As a result, the May 16, 2026 sailing from Kiel and the May 17, 2026 embarkation from Copenhagen are back on, with the rest of the ship’s Northern Europe season still set to run as planned.
MSC Euribia Is Finally Heading Back to Europe

Just days ago, it looked like the ship’s delayed return from the Arabian Gulf could throw the start of its Europe season into a mess. MSC Euribia had been stuck in Dubai while cruise lines waited for a safe window to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
That window has now opened. MSC said the ship made the transit in close coordination with the relevant authorities and is already on course for Northern Europe.
Tracking data reported over the weekend showed the ship had moved past the northern tip of Oman on April 18. That was the clearest sign yet that the long wait in Dubai was over.

The Reinstated Cruises Are the Same Fjords Itinerary
The May 16 sailing from Kiel is a 7-night Norwegian fjords cruise calling at Copenhagen, Hellesylt, Alesund, and Flam.
The May 17 departure is the same sailing but with embarkation in Copenhagen instead. So this is really one itinerary with two boarding points, not two totally different cruises.
Guests Can Move Back to Their Original Sailing

Guests whose cruises were canceled are now being given the chance to move back onto the reinstated sailing.
MSC says those affected will be contacted directly with more details. That’s good news, though it may not fix everything for every guest. Once flights, hotels, and time off have already been moved around, switching back is not always easy.
At the time of the cancellation, guests had been offered other sailings, future cruise credit, or a full refund. MSC still hasn’t said how it will handle priority for anyone who wants to move back to the original date.
Northern Europe Season Looks Back On Track
The ship still has a long repositioning run ahead. Reports put the voyage to Germany at roughly 8,300 miles.
Still, the main hurdle is now behind her. The ship is out of the Gulf, heading west, and MSC says all later Northern Europe sailings are still expected to go ahead.
MSC Euribia is due to stay in the Baltic Sea and North Sea through mid-October. After that, the ship is scheduled to switch to Mediterranean cruises for winter 2026-27, with sailings tied to ports including Barcelona, Marseille, Genoa, Naples, and Palermo before returning north in spring 2027.
