Royal Caribbean has brought back a limited-time Double Points promotion, giving Crown & Anchor Society members a faster way to build loyalty status on select upcoming sailings.
What the New Double Points Offer Includes
The Double Points Offer applies to new bookings made from July 21 through July 31, 2026. It covers sailings departing between September 1, 2026 and April 30, 2027, although Transatlantic and Transpacific cruises are excluded.
The promotion is limited to new individual and named group bookings, and it is valid for up to two cruises during that sailing window. It also applies across all cabin types, so guests are not limited to booking a specific stateroom category to qualify. For Crown & Anchor members who are already thinking about their next status tier, that could make the offer especially appealing.
Why This Promotion Is Back
This is also not the first time Royal Caribbean has used this kind of incentive. The line previously offered double points during the 2020 and 2021 shutdown period, when ships were not sailing and the industry was under intense financial pressure.
At the time, the promotion was used to encourage new bookings during a period when cruise lines were trying to bring in fresh revenue despite operations being paused. It was a very different moment for the industry, with demand needing an extra push and loyal cruisers being given a strong reason to keep booking future vacations.
What Michael Bayley Said in 2021
Back in 2021, Royal Caribbean International President and CEO Michael Bayley suggested the company would use the offer selectively rather than make it a regular feature. He said the promotion would be used “strategically” and added, “You’ll see more of that coming, but it’s not going to be a blanket open book.”
Who Qualifies for the Promotion
The offer is also broad within the Crown & Anchor program, with existing Gold, Platinum, Emerald, Diamond, Diamond Plus, and Pinnacle members all eligible. In practical terms, that means the promotion is open across the loyalty tiers and across any cabin type.
How the Points Breakdown Works
For frequent cruisers, the value of the deal comes down to how Royal Caribbean awards points in the first place. Standard members earn 1 Cruise Point for each night they sail, while suite guests or solo travelers paying for double occupancy earn 2 Cruise Points per night.
Here’s how the double points promotion changes that:

That means the new promotion could add up quickly. A seven-night cruise that would usually earn 7 points would earn 14 under this offer. A seven-night suite sailing that would usually earn 14 points would rise to 28, while a solo traveler in a suite could earn 42 points.
For anyone trying to move up the Crown & Anchor ladder, the current tier structure looks like this:

- Platinum: 30 points
- Emerald: 55 points
- Diamond: 80 points
- Diamond Plus: 175 points
- Pinnacle Club: 700 points

The Terms and Limits to Know
There are still a few conditions attached. A valid Crown & Anchor Society number must be included in the reservation, and the points will only be applied after the booking is paid in full. Points are expected to post within 30 days after the sailing ends.
The offer can be combined with some of Royal Caribbean’s other deals, including BOGO60, Kids Sail Free, Free 3rd and 4th Guests, promotional onboard credit, Next Cruise offers, instant savings, restricted discounts (such as senior and military discounts), Crown & Anchor discounts, and shareholder benefits. At the same time, it cannot be combined with complimentary cruises, employee cruises, casino offers, seminar rates, or travel agent reduced rates.
There is another limitation worth noting for loyal cruisers who track status closely. The bonus points from this promotion do not apply through Royal Caribbean’s Points Choice program, so they cannot be transferred to another cruise line. In other words, anyone using Points Choice would lose the extra bonus tied to this offer.
Why the Promotion Matters Now
The return of the promotion in 2026 suggests Royal Caribbean still sees double points as a useful booking tool, even if the reason behind it has changed. In 2021, it was tied to an industry shutdown and the need to stimulate demand. This time, it feels more like a targeted incentive aimed at loyalty members during a short booking window.
For passengers already watching their Crown & Anchor status, that extra incentive may be the biggest draw. I took advantage of the same double points offer back in 2021 and earned 14 loyalty points on a seven-night Caribbean cruise instead of the usual 7, which helped me move up the status ladder much faster.
Double points can help members move up to Diamond, Diamond Plus, and eventually Pinnacle Club more quickly, which is where the benefits start to feel much more meaningful.
At those higher tiers, the perks can add up from one sailing to the next, including complimentary drink vouchers, Wi-Fi access, reserved seating at shows, photos, and other loyalty extras.
