Popular Carnival Fun Squad Host Sara Taskoski Just Became a Cruise Director

A familiar face from Carnival’s Fun Squad has landed one of the line’s top onboard roles.

After spending about four and a half years building her career at Carnival, Sara Taskoski has now stepped into the cruise director role.

Taskoski shared the news in a social media post, writing, “Look Mom, I got my stripes!! Happy to say I am fully promoted to CRUISE DIRECTOR.”

She also reflected on how far she’s come since joining the line, adding, “Starting with Carnival 4 1/2 years ago I never would’ve thought I would have the strength or confidence to achieve this role. Thank you to all my mentors who pushed me to be the leader I am today.”

She Started as an Activity Host

Her LinkedIn profile shows she began with Carnival in 2021 in an activity host position.

That job typically involves running guest activities like trivia, bingo, and deck parties, putting her right at the center of the onboard atmosphere from the start.

Early in her Carnival career, she worked on Carnival Horizon, Carnival Venezia, Carnival Panorama, and Carnival Vista.

She Moved Up to Acting Cruise Director Last Year

She later moved into an acting cruise director position in August 2025.

It’s a temporary cover role used when a permanent cruise director can’t sail, but it still carries a lot of responsibility. Instead of simply hosting events, she would have been helping oversee the ship’s broader entertainment and activity lineup.

Before receiving her full promotion, she served in that position on Mardi Gras, Carnival Vista, Carnival Sunshine, and Carnival Firenze.

Over time, she’s built a following of guests who enjoy her high-energy style and friendly personality, which has made her a familiar name to plenty of Carnival cruisers.

Where She’s Sailing Right Now

Passengers who want to sail with Taskoski can currently catch her onboard Carnival Firenze.

She started her current contract on June 29, 2026, and is expected to remain there through August 28, 2026.

The 135,156-gross-ton ship is sailing 3- and 4-night Mexico cruises from Long Beach, California.

She’s Heading to Carnival Freedom Next

Following a short break, she’s expected to return later this year for a stint on Carnival Freedom.

She hinted at the move in the same post, writing, “P.S. Carnival Freedom I’ll see ya in November.”

Her contract on the 110,000-gross-ton ship is scheduled from November 2, 2026, through March 4, 2027.

During that contract, the ship will be offering Bahamas cruises from Port Canaveral, Florida, so guests sailing over the holidays and into early 2027 may see her there.
