The disappearance of 23-year-old Amy Lynn Bradley from a Royal Caribbean cruise ship in 1998 has haunted her family — and fascinated the public — for over two decades. Now, after the release of the Netflix docuseries Amy Bradley Is Missing, the case is back in the spotlight, and filmmakers say fresh leads have been passed to her family.

If you missed our earlier coverage written before the documentary aired, you can read the full backstory here: She Disappeared from a Cruise Ship in 1998, Her Family Still Thinks She’s Alive, and Netflix Is Bringing Her Story Back to Light.

A Disappearance That’s Never Been Solved

Amy vanished in the early hours of March 24, 1998, while the Rhapsody of the Seas was docked in Curaçao. Despite extensive searches, no body has ever been found. In 2010, she was declared legally dead, yet her family has continued to believe she could still be alive. Over the years, reported sightings, including a photograph resembling Amy found on a sex worker website in 2005, have fuelled speculation and kept hope alive.

Amy Bradley Is Missing has introduced the case to millions of viewers worldwide. Filmmaker Ari Mark, who led the project, told The US Sun that the reception has been overwhelming: “The buzz around the show is incredible. That’s what we want. The more people who know Amy’s story, the better.”

Mark said Amy’s mother, Iva Bradley, is “over the moon” that her daughter’s story is finally receiving this level of attention. The family hopes this renewed interest might lead to answers.

New Leads, But No Confirmation Yet

Since the documentary’s release, Mark confirmed that several leads have been passed on to Amy’s family. While he couldn’t share details, he cautioned that these tips are unverified and could prove false. “This was always about one thing: finding Amy,” he explained.

Mark also acknowledged the challenges of investigating such an old case. In 1998, there were no mobile phones or widespread security cameras on cruise ships, leaving large gaps in the timeline of Amy’s last known movements.

A Case That Still Raises Questions

Whether Amy is still alive remains unknown, but for her family, the hope endures. As Mark put it: “I prefer to believe that Amy is alive. But there’s so little tangible official evidence in this case that it’s impossible to know.”

The series is now streaming on Netflix, inviting viewers around the world to watch, theorise, and, perhaps, help solve one of the most mysterious cases in modern cruise history.
