New Cruise Ship Brings Moana Musical, Marvel Dining, and Mickey’s Wildest Water Ride

Disney Cruise Line celebrated the christening of its newest ship, the Disney Treasure, with a grand event on the Hudson River in New York City. This milestone highlights Disney’s commitment to expanding its cruise offerings and providing exceptional family holidays at sea.

The ceremony was a testament to Disney’s storytelling excellence, attended by key figures from The Walt Disney Company, including CEO Bob Iger.

The evening featured a breathtaking drone light show, where 1,000 drones illuminated the night sky with iconic Disney images. The spectacle culminated in the formation of a 65-foot-tall champagne bottle, which burst into a grand finale of pyrotechnics, symbolising the ship’s christening. Adding to the enchantment, award-winning singer-songwriter Jordin Sparks delivered a powerful live performance of “Live the Adventure,” the Disney Treasure’s anthem.

Bob Iger highlighted the importance of Disney’s storytelling and its commitment to creating magical experiences. “Our dedicated employees are the heart of our success,” he stated, acknowledging their crucial role in the company’s achievements. In recognition of their contributions, Disney employees were honoured as the official godparents of the Disney Treasure.

The christening of the Disney Treasure is part of Disney’s broader strategy to expand its cruise line and reach new audiences. Disney Cruise Line plans to more than double its fleet to 13 ships by 2031. The Disney Treasure, along with its sister ships, the Disney Wish and the upcoming Disney Destiny, represents a new era of growth and innovation for the company.
