Carnival Passengers Clash In Buffet Fight Over Late-Night Snacks

A late-night food stop spiralled into chaos aboard a Carnival cruise when several guests began brawling in the buffet area, reportedly over chicken tenders.

The altercation broke out around 2 am in the Lido Marketplace, where late-night bites are usually served.

Footage filmed by passenger Mike Terra shows shouting, pushing, and punches being thrown as shoes and phones fly across the room.

One bystander can be heard asking, “Where is security?” while a crew member tries to break up the fight. Terra, who shared the video online, later commented: “Over chicken tenders is crazy,” though he admitted there was more behind the dispute.

Carnival Cruise Line has not yet confirmed details of the incident or revealed which ship was involved.

Consequences Likely Severe

Carnival maintains a zero-tolerance approach to violence on its ships.

Passengers caught fighting risk fines of $500, confinement to their staterooms, removal from the ship with no refund, and in many cases, a permanent ban from the cruise line.

“All guests must acknowledge and commit to our code of conduct during the check-in process,” the cruise line states, with breaches carrying strict penalties.

Not the First Incident This Summer

The brand has faced multiple cases of passenger unrest in recent months. Earlier in August, a large fight broke out outside Carnival’s Long Beach terminal in California.

In June, a violent confrontation on Carnival Sunrise saw guests banned after throwing both punches and chairs near the pizzeria.

Carnival has repeatedly reminded guests of its guidelines on safety, which set out clear expectations on behaviour, smoking, drug use, and curfews for younger travellers.

Even so, passenger clashes have continued to make headlines.
